MEMBERSHIP INCREASED .FIRST TIME FOR FIVE YEARS LONDON, August 18. The annual report of the Trade Union Congress shows that the membership has increased by 100,000 over last year. This is the first increase in five years. The report criticises the Government’s obstructionist attitude to a 40-hour week,' and deplores Moscow’s attempts to encourage workers to join revolu tionary unions. It considers that Fascism is declining in Britain, and there are even signs that it is being undermined in Fascist countries.
