PALMERSTON

Pipe Band The local Highland Pipe Band travelled to the Pleasant Valley Sanatorium on Sunday afternoon and entertained the patients with an enjoyable programme of Highland selections. As the day was rather cold for some of the patients to be out of doors, the band marched through the Sanatorium so that all the patients could hear the music. The members of the band were later entertained at afternoon tea. Gun Club There was perfect weather for the annual 15-bird' Handicap Shoot for the George Roberts Cup. Seven entries were received and the best results are as fol-lows:—-W. Sutherland (15yds), 15 breaks; Joe Roy (14yds), 14; J. R. Roy (20yds), 13; F. W. Robinson and J. H. Roy (11yds), 10 each. W. Sutherland won the cup. The Six-bird Double-rise resulted as follows: —Joe Roy and' J. R. Roy sis each, W. Sutherland and F. W. Robinson five each, and J. H. Roy and J. Dempsey four each. . , , The Six-bird Quail Drive resulted as follows: —W. Sutherland 6, F. W. Robinson and J. Dempsey 5 each, and Joe Roy, N. Matheson, and J. R. Roy 4 each.
