TO-MORROW EVENING’S

CONCERT

The enthusiastic public support which Kaikorai Band concerts have received has been prompted to a large extent by the fact that those responsible have_ at all times striven to fulfil the requirements of a mixed audience, by exercising variety not only in the selection of the band numbers but also in the choice of assisting artists. The concert, which will be presented in the Concert Chamber. to-morrow evening, should again prove popular. Mias Ruby Price (vocalist). Miss Mavis M‘Cormack (violinist) and Mr S. Kingston (vocalist) will assist. Bandsman R. HaU will provide a novelty trombone item and Bandsman P. Glenn will be heard in a cornet solo. Master Glenn is a very young and promising player who up till a few months ago played the tenor horn, and on this instrument won the New Zealand championship at the last contest while only 12 years of age. The band, under the direction of Lieut. H. J. Osborne, will present the following programme: —Marches, “Old Comrades” and “ Fighting Mac ”; overture, “Spanish Carnival”; fox-trot, “Moonlight River ”; waltz, “ Crown of Beauty”; and a selection, “Scottish Memories.”
