SOUTH ISLAND ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE MEETING (From Ocb Special Reporter.)KUROW, April 11. At a meeting of the South Island Dog Trials Association, held at Kurow last night, it was decided that the New Zen* land Championships should commence on the Malvern ground on June 19, 1935. Mr R. W. Trotter (president) occupied the chair, and the following were also present:—Messrs C. EL Parker (Canterbury), R. Ross (Otago), ,T. Anderson (Otago), Alan Chapman (Canterbury), H. F. Fincham (vice-president of the South Island Dog Trials Association), A. T. Miller (Southland), and A. D. Finlayson; Mr H. 0. Merton (Massey Agriculture College) wrote thanking the association for his election as a life member, and congratulating the association on the work being carried out. It was decided to hold another meeting of delegates at the competitions for the South Island Dog Trials Association at Malvern, meeting in June. On the motion of Mr C. H. Parker (South Canterbury), it was decided that the North Island Dog Trials Association should hold a general meeting of members at the South Island Dog Trials at Malvern in June, and that matters in connection with the Stud Book should be discussed. Considerable discussion ensued in connection with rule 6 in the Stud Book conditions, and Mr C. H. Parker (Cave) moved that that particular rule should be deleted. _ He expressed the opinion that if the sire and dam had already been registered by an owner it was not necessary for him to register the litter. Mr Parker expressed the opinion that if a member had registered both the dam and the sire, that was all that was needed After considerable discussion rule 6 was rescinded. It was decided that all competitors who had competed at unaffiliated clubs’ meetings last year be exonerated from censure, and that the South Island Association should, in future, take a firm stand, and that the rules of the association in regard to this particular matter should be strongly enforced.
