TELEPHONE CABLE
DEFECTIVE SECTION LOCATED REPAIRS TO BE MADE TO-DAY (Pee United Press Association) • WELLINGTON, March 12. The defective section. of the NorthSouth Island telephone cable was located to-day by .the Janie 'Seddon about 500 yards of cable were taken aboard the vessel,' the cut ends being buoyed. The old cable was taken back and a fresh section was taken aboard, It:was found that the protection of the underside of the cable was completely warn through. The Janie Seddon will leave port tomorrow morning to splice a new section to the buoyed ends. It is expected that the work will be completed in the afternoon.
