GOLD FROM RUSSIA
SHIPMENTS TO ENGLAND LIQUIDATING TRADE DEBTS LONDON, February 23. (Reoeived Feb. 24, at 5.5 p.m.) An Anglo-Russian trade authority states that, consequent on the breakdown of the Russian-American trade negotiations, the Soviet intends to ship gold to London, instead of to the United States, for settlement of trade debts. The Soviet has practically liquidated its debts to Germany. The Russian gold production in 1934 was a record.
