INDUSTRIES IN PARIS
SCHEME FOR REMOVAL DIVISION INTO SMALL UNITS PARIS, February 22. Proposals have been presented by the Government for the removal of important industries from Paris owing to the danger of bombardment.. It is pointed out that practically the whole French aircraft, motor and radio industries are concentrated in the Paris region. The Government is offering financial aid to aircraft manufacturers to build factories away from Paris, and is considering a scheme suggested by M. Roland Ziegel, of the Ministry of Marine, to take 50,00$ workers from the concentrated industrial areas, principally Paris, and divide them into small units of production in country districts. The estimated cost is £13,500,000. It is stated that Marshal Petain and the big steel magnates are supporting the scheme.
