THE WEATHER

The weather was fine on Saturday, with passing cloud and sunshine arid a light south-east breeze. The maximum temperature was 63 degrees. Squally conditions prevailed yesterday, with occasional bursts of sunshine. Rain fell at intervals throughout the day. The barometer was steady, the reading at 6 p.m. being 30.00 in. CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH. (Special to Daily Times.) AUCKLAND, February 24. The weather continued showery on Saturday morning, but conditions improved in the afternoon. Generally fin? weather with scattered clouds prevailed to-day. The temperature became much lower than during the past few-months, the reading at 4 p.m. to-day being 67 degrees. The barometer commenced falling after mid-day: _. WELLINGTON, February 24. After steady rain in the early hours the weather cleared during Saturday, and in the afternoon the fresh southerly breeze gradually died away. On Sunday morning a moderate northerly breeze arose. The weather was fine, although rather cloudy until about 5 p.m., when it became overcast, and half an hour later a thunderstorm and heavy rain commenced. The maximum temperature on Saturday was'6l.7 degrees, and on Sunday the temperature at 4 p.m. was 65 degrees. CHRTSTCHURCH, February 24. The weather was for the most part dull and threatening during the week-end. A strong south-west wind this after-noon.-brought several showers of rain. The barometer is rising slowly, and registered 29.89 in this evening.
