CLEM DAWE REVUE COMPANY

SUCCESSFUL SEASON CONCLUDED It would not be too .much to say that the concluding performance of the Clem Dawe Revue Company at His Majesty's Theatre on Saturday night was the most enjoyable performance of the Reason. Throughout its stay in Dunedin the members of the company have endeavoured to maintain an informal atmosphere and enter into friendly relationships with the audience, making them partv to the revels on the stage, and the measure to which their efforts have been successful 'was evident throughout the evening. The performers were at the height of their form, and their good spirits infected with ■ enthusiasm the large audience which filled the theatre to capacity. The programme, which consisted of the cream of the sketches and scenas prevented during the previous week, was a long one,. but it was obvious that the audience wished it was still longer. Mr Clem Dawe was well to the fore in a number of highly diverting sketches enlivened with bright repartee and quaint mannerisms, and Miss Dorothy White also performed in her usual comical manner. A generous selection of favourite vocal and violin numbers was given, and the solo and ballet dancers gave of their best. As has been the case throughout the season, the work of the orchestra and the solo piano accompaniments by Mr Tom King were pleasingly effective. At the conclusion of the programme, members of the company expressed the pleasure which their stay in Dunedin had given them, and thanked the audiences for their support.
