STRANGE GIPSY FUNERAL

A gipsy woman’s funeral was celebrated at Burton-on-Trent recently. Romany folk from all parts of the country assembled. Each walked solemnly round the open coffin, placed between tallies covered with wreaths in a caravan. The caravan was then burned, for the gipsies believe that no one should live in the home of a dead person. The body was buried at Rugeley.
