DUNEDIN BURNS CLUB
MONTHLY CONCERT The Dunedin Burns Club held a successful social and concert in the Early Settlers’ Hall on Wednesday evening, when there was a very good attendance. The chairman (Mr N. Stewart) extended a warm welcome to members of kindred societies, and said he was delighted to see such a large audience, which augured well for the future. He assured those present that the Hallowe’en celebrations to be held early in November would be well up, to the standard of previous years and hoped that all would give their support. The following programme was then presented:—Selections, Dunedin Highland Pipe Band; recitation, Miss Joyce Keown; songs —Miss Alison Tyrie and Mr Arthur Macdonald; Scottish humour, Mr George Watson; violin solo, Mr Moody; highland reel, Misses Lorna Budge, Olive Scott, Flora M'Donald and A. Keleski; sketch, “Mrs Char Rules the Roost,” St. Andrew’s Society Players. An enjoyable dance, which included old and new numbers, was also held.
