FAILURE OF POWER
BATTERSEA STATION LONDON TRAFFIC STOPPED LONDON, July 30. (Received July 30, at 8 p.m.) Owing to the failure of the Battersea power station, 10,000 square miles oi Southern England were affected by a breakdown in the electricity grid, ineluding London, in which the tramways and some electrical railways stopped, traffic lights failed, and radio sets stopped for an hour to three hours.
