Messrs Park, Reynolds, Ltd., have on exhibition a varied collection of oil and water colours and old steel plate engravings, amongst which are some very fine examples. Among other's are beautiful oils of Milverton Church, Warwickshire, and Charlerote Park, by John C. Wintour, A.R.S.A., “A Seaport Town,” by Fielding; “Rural Scene,” by E. Terry; “Landscape and Pool,” by J. D. Taylor. W. M. Hodgkins is represented by a large water colour with lake and island in foreground, and snowy mountains in the distance, also by paintings of Mount Earnslaw and the Valley of the Dart, which is a beautiful piece of work. He has also two small sketches. E. A. Chapman has a large water colour of “The Terraces,” showing faithfully what they were before the eruption. W. J. Rush has a beautiful little piece of Canadian mountains scenery with bush and river. Albert Hansen’s old English cottages and garden is sure to attract attention. The garden is a riot of summer flowers. Miss Isabel Hodgkins has a beautifully painted blue jug with apple blossom. The old lady sitting at the window darning is a very fine piece of work by F. Flol. Two old steel engravings, “The Last Sleep of Argyll” and “The Last Scene in the Life of Montrose,” are fine copies, and worth inspecting. There is a number of photogravures, etchings, and coloured prints which make a good show. The collection will be on view until the sale by auction on Thursday afternoon.
