THE WEATHER
Wintry weather was experienced in Dunedin on Saturday. A cold southwesterly wind was blowing, and rain, sleet, and snow showers fell during the day, the maximum temperature being 36 degrees. On account of the condition of the grounds all Rugby, Association, and League football fixtures were postponed. During Saturday evening the weather cleared considerably, although several light showers of snow fell at intervals, and early yesterday morning a hard frost set in.
Yesterday’s weather was beautifully fine and sunny, with a light south-westerly breeze, but there was a sharp nip in the air, and the maximum temperature was 38 degrees. REPORTS FROM THE NORTH. (Special to Dailt Times.) AUCKLAND, June TO. Light and variable winds and wintry weather prevailed during the week-end. Frequent light showers wore experienced on Saturday and until early this morning. To-day was fine and sunny, but conditions continuer] cold. The barometer lias risen to 30.10 in. WELLINGTON, June 10. Saturday in Wellington was fine and sunny, but extremely cold. The sky clouded over in the evening, and rain fell after 10.30 n.m. The total fall up to !) o’clock on Sunday morning was 24 points. There was a considerable fall of snow during the night on the Orongorongo Ranges. Yesterday there were frequent showers in the morning, and at times sleet with very cold south-east breezes. It cleared in the afternoon, however, the wind dying away gradually, CHRISTCHURCH. June 10. The weather was cold and overcast in Christchurch yesterday, with a light
south-west wind and occasional light rain. During the night there was a light fall of snow. To-day was brilliantly fine, but very cold out of the sun. The wind was very light from the south-west.
