LEAGUE OF NATIONS
‘ SOVIET LIKELY TO JOIN ,SPONSORED BY FRANCE. GENEVA, May 22. (Received May 23, at 0.30 a.in.) It is expected that the Soviet will join the League of Nations in September as a result of conversations between M. Litvinoff and M. Barthou. France will sponsor the Soviet’s candidature and curded vpur to secure a smooth election, which requires a two-thirds-majority of the assembly.
