GOOD TEMPLARY

. Tlie weekly meeting of the Rescue Lodge was held in the Oddfellows' Hull, King Edward street. In the abseuce of the C.T., Bro. E. Brooks, V.T., presided over a good attendance of members and visitors. Correspondence was received from the Grand Lodge, and also from the relatives of the late Bro. Stanley. One candidate was initiated and accorded a hearty welcome to the lodge. The reports on the juvenile sessions showed both temples to be progressing favourably. ■ The election of officers for the ensuing quarter resulted as. follows:—Chief Templar, Sis. .M. Thomas; V.T., Bro. 11. Hall; F.S., Sis. E. Brooks'; secretary, Bro. E. J. lies; assistant secretary, Sis. Mercer; chaplain, Sis. M. Dougal; treasurer, Bro. T. H. Dalton; marshal, Sis. G. Rackley; deputy marshal, Sis. E. Duncan; guard, Sis. 51. Coates; sentinel, Sis. Mrs Donaldson; organist, Sisters Morwood, M'Millau, ,and M. Dougal; reporter, Bro. E. J. lies. The reports of the various committees were received, and all were very satisfactory. The installation of officers was carried out by R.D. Bro. J. Hilton, assisted by Bros. K. Mercer and E. Brooks as installing marshal and deputy marshal respectively. Fraternal greetings were tendered by Hope of Dunediu Lodge (Sis. Beath) and Hope of Caversham Lodge (Bro. Churchill). Owing to the large amount of business dealt with, the G*L. representatives' repcrt was held over. The Star of Victory Temple, No. 31, met on April 23 in the Kaikorai S.S. Hall. Sis. Mrs fflett, S.J.W., was in charge, and C.T. Bro. M.' Steel presided over the meeting. Bro. Hilton, D.S.J.W., initiated a new member into the Order The election of officers resulted as follows:—C.T.. Paterson; treasurer, Sis. N". Matheson; secretary, Bro. Bay Foster; chaplain, Sis. Agnes Steel; assistant secretary, Bro. J. Kennedy; organist, Bro. J. Flett. Bros. Hilton and Scott and Sis. Williamson spoke to the members. The Star of Freedom Lodge met on April 23 in the Kaikorai, S.S. Hall. C.T Sis. M»s Flett presided over a fair attendance of members. Visitors from the Rescue and Hope of Dunedin Lodges were present. A new member was initiated. It was decided that a letter of sympathy should be pent to the relatives of Bro. Stanley and also to the Hope of Caversham Lodge. Bro. Dalton. P.G.G.T., gavepart of his report on his visit to the Grand Lodge session held in Wellington recently.

The Hope of Caversham Lodge. T.0.G.T.. held its weekly session in Baxter. Hall op Thursday evening. Bro. Seque presided over a good attendance of members. During the evening Sis. Mrs Paul!, assisted by Bros. Emerson and Gough, installed the newly-elected officers for the quarter. .After business was completed. Sis. Paull. assisted by Sis. Hallas and other members, carried out a programme of May Day games, a description being given of some of the ancient rites earned out in England and Scotland on the May Day festival. Supper was handed round. The_ Hope of Dunedin Lodge, No. 55. held its weekly session in the Radiant Health Hall. St. Andrew street, on Mav 2. C.T. Sis. Beath opened the meeting at the usual time. Several officers were absent through sickness, and the secretary was instructed to write to each member conveying sympathy. A report on the state of the juvenile temple was diven by Sis. Wright, and the assistant superintendent of juvenile works.
