YANGTSE- RIVER DISASTER HEAVY LOSS OF LIFE FEARED. SHANGHAI, December 13. The worst disaster for many years in Chinese inland waters occurred on the Yangtse River, according to reports, when a small Chinese steamer, which was proceeding to Hankow, crashed into a Government troopship during a heavy fog. The steamer sank within a few minutes. It is estimated that SO Chinese lost their lives.
