ROYAL COMMISSION SET UP
IMPORTANCE STRESSED,

The Financial News directs attention to the importance of the appointment of a Royal Commission to investigate Canadian banking, saying that the Ottawa assembly dreamed of a chain of central banks throughout the Empire, and events in all the dominions are moving in that direction. The prospect has aroused opposition from the banks of Canada and New Zealand, but zealots of a unified Empire monetary policy will fight hard to achieve it.
