HORSES FOR AUSTRALIA
SPRING RACING CAMPAIGN. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 2. At least seven horses are due to leave Wellington for Australia on the Wanganella to-morrow. Two are going to do their spring racing in New South Wales, and the other five are two-year-olds which are being sent across to their Australian owners. Autopay will be the star traveller. Another Wellington-owned one is Mrs M. Higgins’s three-year-old Paper Money—Afterglow filly After Money, who is still a maiden, though she has been placed on four or five occasions. The five two-year-olds are Quarto (Paper Money—Quadrilateral), who was to have gone on the last trin of the Wanganella, but was injured in transport fiom Awapuni and has since been at Trentham, and four youngsters purchased at the national sales by “Mr Namoorg,” of Melbourne, and since given their preliminary preparation by J. M’Laughlin at Trentham. The four last-named are a Lord Warden—Moiselle colt, a Captain Brursby—Gazella colt, a Hunting Song— Ayah filly, and a filly by The Ace— Mungakiuo, all of whom are leaving Trentham in excellent condition.
