RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES

(Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 2. This was a very quiet morning at Riccarton. Heavy rain overnight was followed by a sharp frost, with the sun shining during the working period. There was practically no galloping, though a large number of horses did useful pacing on the second track or on the centre of the course. , _ , T , Lady Valkyrie and Rational II provided the only gallops of interest, with a capital display of jumping over six hurdles.
