ALSATIAN DOGS
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir, — I regret troubling you with another letter, but I cannot let Mr G. Anderson’s strictures to pass unrefuted. I own but one Alsatian, and have never owned more than one. How I could have told Mr Anderson that he was fortunate in not patting "this other one” I don’t know. I do not know Mr Anderson, al-
though I may have seen him. If he would come and see me he could tell me of the incident to -which he referred.in his letter. As he was straightforward enough to challenge me publicly, I am sure he will be honest enough to rectify his error publicly. It is an error, and I can only guess at the way in which it occurred, but in justice to me Mr Anderson should see me and be assured that be has mistaken my identity. As for the Alsatian which snapped at his friend on the motor cycle, I did not know that there was another of the breed in this district. I could not make my'own dog chase a vehicle, if I should want him to. Moreover, there are very few people here who are afraid of him. I leave it to Mr Anderson. —I am, etc.. G. Collet. Herbert, June 20. TO THE EDITOR Sir, —The letter in your columns signed by Mr J. Anderson, though a short reply to Mr Collett, furnishes a very fair indication of the type of dog that is bred in our midst.—l am,, etc., Safety First, i
