KING OF IRAQ
ARRIVAL IN LONDON A CORDIAL RECEPTION. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, June 20. King Feisal was given a notable reception when he reached England to-day. As his steamer, escorted by four of Britain’s fastest destroyers and nine aeroplanes, entered Dover Harbour, a royal salute of 21 guns was fired. The Duke of York, with the Iraq Minister, went aboard and greeted the King and accompanied him to tf special train on which they proceeded to London. Awaiting them at Victoria Station were the King, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Gloucester, Mr Ramsay MacDonald, other members of the Cabinet, heads of the services, and many other distinguished people, who wore uniforms or levee dress. The Grenadier Guards, with the King’s colours, formed the guard of honour, and helped to create an impression of pageantry unequalled in London for some time. There was a cordial greeting between the two Kings. The procession of carriages, in the first of which sat the Kings and the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Gloucester, proceeded to Buckingham Palace, large crowds heartily cheering the royal visitor.
