UNIVERSITY A v. UNIVERSITY B The postponed match between the University A and B teams was played at Logan Park yesterday afternoon, and resulted in an easy win for the A’s. The teams were as follows: University A: Backs—Nicholson, Jones, Ruff, Dunne, Fookes, Uttley, Gillies; forwards —Service, Lopdell, Stevenson-Wright, Borrie, Macfarlane, Strang, Hamilton, Chapman. University B: Backs—Mowat, Jolly, Roy, Fraser-Smith, M'Carthy, Greenall, Emanuel; forwards—Smith, U’-Arcy, Cunningham, Harrison,' Pickard,. Boyes, Wilson, Borrie. The A team quickly went to the attack, and passing by their backs put them in position. From a penalty Service kicked a good goal. 3 —o. Passing by the B’s broke down and Fookes picked up the ball and after making an opening passed infield to Dunne, who scored near the posts. Hamilton’s kick hit the cross bar. 6 —o. The A’s attacked again and Fookes, after receiving a pass from Uttley, went clean through to. the posts. Service kicked a goal. 11—0. , ! A good line kick by Pickard gained ground for the B’s, but from the throw in the ball went oiit to Jones, who turned infield and passed to Hamilton, the captain scoring wide out. Service missed the goal kick. 14—6. The B’s had a turn at attack. Jolly made a good run along the line and threw infield, and after short passing Pickard scored and kicked a goal. 14—5.,- • The backs threw the ball about, and Jones 'went over after Uttley had passed to Fookes. Service missed the goal kick. 17—5. Jones scored wide out immediately after —Nicholson missing with the goal kick—and Dunne then scored on the other wing after a fine run, Nicholson again missing. 2? —5. Gillies went round from a scrum to score, Service converting, and the half time whistle then went. 28—5. Jones scored a few minutes after resuming, Service kicking a fine goal from well out. 33 —5. The A’s continued to hold the upper hand, the tackling by the B’s being very weak at times. Gillies scored (Hamilton missihg the goal kick), and tries were also secured by Macfarlane (Ruff missing), Strang (Ruff missing), and Ruff (Chapman missing). > University A . . . . 45 points ■ University B .... 5 points' Mr J.
