COMMUNITY SINGING
The weekly community sing will take place in the Empire Theatre by courtesy of the management, to-morrow, from 12.30 to 1.30 p.m. Mr F. H. Lampen will again be the leader, and with Miss Rita Holmes at the piano, the sing will be in good hands. Mr Bert Rawlinson will be assisting by giving a new song, which has been composed by Mr A. Harrison, of the Taieri. This is entitled “ Good-bye Depression,” and is a song which will suit Mr Rawlinson. As the chorus has a good swing the audience will easily he able to sing it. Last week the attendance was much better than on previous days, which goes to show that the sings are becoming more popular each week, and it is to be hoped that the attendance to-morrow will exceed previous occasions. The committee would again remind listeners-in who no doubt receive much enjoyment and pleasure from the broadcasting of the sings, to send in donations in money or goods (no matter how small) to the secretary, care of Messrs Chas. Begg and Co.. Ltd., or to the Empire Theatre. If goods are sent, these will be disposed of at the sing, and the money devoted to the very deserving cause of the Mayor’s Unemployment Relief Fund.
