(From Our Own Correspondent..) ROXBURGH. I June 20. ■HARD FROSTS.- ’ , Hard frosts are being-experienced here, five;,degrees and; up to , eight degrees in some parts of the district being registered. Tije river is falling rapidly, and conditions for mining in the gorge are daily becoming more favourable. Already there is a good number working, many of them having been there all the summer, and in a few weeks almost a rush may be expected. , ( v GOLF. , The first, qualifying found of the Club Championship was played . last Saturday. A medal match wag also played, the winner being J. Logan, with a net score of 63. The Ladies’ Match was won by Mrs J. R. Gilmour with a net score.of 80. FOOTBALL, / Roxburgh and Ettrick played at Roxburgh on Saturday, when Ettrick suffered its first defeat of the season, losing by> six .points to nil. At Miller’s Flat, Coal Creek defeated Miller’s Flat by three points to nil. Ettrick still has a comfortable lead in banner points. Roxburgh High School played Miller’s Flat Juniors at Miller’s Flat, winning by 10 points to nil. .. ..
