BOOKMAKERS PERMITS
REDUCTION IN APPLICATIONS. MELBOURNE, June 17. Forty-two bookmakers decided not to renew their permits for Flemington for the year beginning July 1. The chief causes are heavy taxation, totalisator opposition, and heavy working expenses.
