BOY'S HEROISM

FIGHT WITH CROCODILE RESCUED VICTIMS d/e. LONDON, June 7. A message from Port of Spain, Trinidad, says that news of a dramatic fight between a boy and a crocodile in the San Fernando River, Venezuela, reached there to-day. Ramon El Roy, a 14-year-old lad, saw a smaller playmate dive into the river, almost into the open jaws of the crocodile. Ramon dashed in and beat the reptile over the head, forcing it to release its victim. The plucky boy managed to take the younger lad to the shore, but another lad, who had gone to his assistance, was also seized by the crocodile. Again Ramon dashed, into the water and fought the monster above and below water for his second playmate. Eventually he triumphed, and took the second boy to the shore. Both victims, however, died. Ramon himself was covered with lacerations and cuts, but is making a rapid recovery.
