THE NEW MARSHAL SIR GEOFFREY SALMOND. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, April 2. Marshal of the Royal Air Force Sir John Salmond is succeeded as Chief of the Air Staff by his elder brother, Sir Geoffrey, hitherto air officer commander-in-chief of the air defence of Great Britain. Sir John is 51 and Sir Geoffrey is three years older. He took up flying a few months after his younger brother, who became an airman in 1912.
