AMATEUR ATHLETICS

EVENING SPORTS MEETING The sports meeting held the Caledonian Ground by the Otago Centre ot the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association last evening drew a good attendance of spectators. A fresh wind was blowing down the ground from the St. Clair end, and as a result of this assistance the runners in the 100 Yards Handicap were able to make good times, the final being run in lOsec. The runners over the longer distances and the cyclists, however, had the wind in their faces over a good part of the way.' Fogarty was riding in good form, winning his heat and the final of the Half-mile Cycle Handicap from scratch. Blackie, who was riding off 45 yards, won the One Mile and a-half Cycle Race.
