LORD BYNG
APPOINTED HEED-MARSHAL LONDON, October 10. Lord Byng has been appointed a field-marshal in succession to the late Lord Plumer. Viscount Byng, of Vimy, has had a distinguished military career. From 1921 to 1926 he Avas Governor-General of Canada, and later was Chief Commissioner of the London Metropolitan Police.
