BRADMAN'S POSITION

PLAYER OR WRITER ATTEMPT TO END DEADLOCK. SYDNEY, October 11. The Herald says: “As a means of ending the deadlock which threatens to prevent Bradman from representing Australia in the tests certain members of the Board of Control are moving to rescind the resolution of the board, which was confirmed, at a recent meeting in Sydney, and provides that only a player solely employed in journalism be permitted to write for the press and play in the tests.” The Melbourne correspondent of the Telegraph says: “If Bradman persists in his intention to write, even though he gives an undertaking to the board not to comment on any player, the final attitude of the board is that he will not be eligible to play in the tests. This was stated at a meeting of the board by the chairman (Dr Robertson), after a clash had occurred on the board’s ruling.
