RAVENSBOURNE BOATING CLUB The annual meeting of the Ravcnsbourne Boating Club was held on Monday night in the club shed, the commodore (Mr W. Webber) presiding over a good attendance of members. Before proceeding with the business of the meeting a vote of sympathy with Mr F. Shanks in the death of his mother was passed. After the annual report and balance sheet had been adopted, the suggested new rules of the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Association were received, and it was resolved to hold them over till the first meeting of the incoming committee. The following office-bearers were elected for the ensuingyear:—Commodore, Mr W. Webber; vice-commodores —Messrs H. E. Moller, A. D. Asher, D. Cameron, and J. M'Pherson; club captain, Mr R. Cardno; deputy-captain, Mr L. Todd; auditors, Messrs P. Young and F, Boswell; secretary and treasurer, Mr J, F. Robertson; delegates to the Otago Yacht and Motor Boat Association, Messrs R. Cardno and N Treurn; Committee —Messrs R. Guthrie, J. Murdoch, F. Shanks', T. Cuthbert. W, Gordon, A. Grant, M, Rutherford, and 6 Keliett; Social Committee—Messrs Lamond, Wilson, Cheshire, Young, and Watkins. , It was decided to open the season -on November 27, and also to take part in the combined clubs’ opening day. A very tine silver cup was presented to the club by Mr T. Cuthbert, and is to be a perpetual trophy to be competed tor by yachts owned by club members.—Mr Cuthbert was thanked for his donation, and was assured of keen competition tor Mr N. Treurn offered to give instruction to the younger members in such subjects as racing rules, ngS'Ug, and other matters which would be of use to them in their yachting careers—Mr Treurn ,was thanked ■or his offer. , ~ T It was decided to hold a race on January 7 for all-comers’ yachts. During the evening the prizes won during the season were presented to the winners.
