(From Odr Own Correspondent.) MILTON, July 4. RELIEF CAMP AT AKATORE. The Public Works Department has made a commencement with preparations for erection of huts and other equipment for the establishment of a relief workers’ camp at Akatore for single unemployed men. It is proposed to make alterations and deviations to the Milton-Akatore-Taieri Mouth road. This camp should prove more attractive than some similar camps in Otago. VITAL STATISTICS. The registrations at_ Milton Post Office for Tokomairiro district during the past month, with figures for June last year in parentheses, were as follow:—Births 2 (5), marriages 2 (0), deaths 3 (4).‘ The totals for the six months ended June 30 were:—Births 22 (30), marriages 9 (7), deaths 15 (19). OBITUARY. The death occurred at Milton Hospital this afternoon of Mr William Newbigging, a well-known farmer of the Moneymore district. The deceased had been ailing for a few days, but serious symptoms developed, and he was conveyed to hospital on Saturday evening. He is survived by his widow and four of a family He was a member of Court Bruce, A.0.F., with which he had been associated for several years.
