ASSAULTS ON WOMEN
LAWLESSNESS IN HONOLULU CHARGE AGAINST GOVERNOR. WASHINGTON, January 13. (Received Jan. 14, at 8 p.m.) The House Committee on Naval Affairs has issued a report stating that laxity on the part of the Hawaiian authorities has convinced the lawless elements at Honolulu that assaults on women could be committed “ without serious consequences ”• to the perpetrators. The Governor is charged with overlooking alleged assaults on women in order to enable him to go to New York to participate in a boxing match.
