FRENCH COMMUNISTS
DEMONSTRATION IN PARIS HUNDREDS OF ARRESTS. PARIS, January 12. (Received Jan. 13, at 5.5 p.m.) The police stations in Paris and the suburbs' are filled by the arrest of 300 Communists for demonstrating in favour of a dole without a preliminary contribution. The promptitude of the police reduced the demonstration to a fiasco. A suffragette who tried to storm the Legislative Chamber, shouting “ Make room for women,” was removed to an infirmary as she was mentally affected. After having a free meal the Communists were released, except foreigners who were armed or without regulation papers.
