A BRIGHTER TONE MOST DEPARTMENTS BUSY. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, January 7. A more hopeful view of the European situation and the chances of useful international co-operation at the forthcoming conferences were shown on the Stock Exchanges to-day. Most departments were busy. Gilt-edged securities continued very firm. German bonds were again strong, and several other foreign Government issues were marked up. Home industrials and banks were notably firm.
