CONFESSION OF THEFTS

A REMARKABLE STORY NO SIGN OF ANY DEFICIENCY. (Pee United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 3. An extraordinary story was told the magistrate (Mr B. D. Mosley) to-day, when a youth was charged with the theft of moneys belonging to the insurance firm by which he is employed, and a sports club, of which he is secretary. The police said the youth had come to the station and made a voluntary statement confessing thefts, but the other parties denied that any money was missing, and no complaints had been received. The youth was decent, but evidently there was a weakness. The case was adjourned to enable the magistrate to interview the youth.
