TRAINING OF RESERVES (From Cue Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, September 3. The operations of the New Zealand Naval Reserve are covered in the annual report of the New Zealand Naval Forces which was presented to Parliment tonight. The total strength of the Royal Naval Reserve on March 31 last was as follows:—Officers 7, men 295; Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve—Officers 77, men 558. The report says that nine sections from the Auckland division, five from Wellington, five from Otago, and three from Canterbury have each been embarked in the trawler Wakakura for a week’s training in mine-sweeping, gunnery, signalling, navigation, and seamanship. In addition a certain number carried out training in the Dunedin and Diomede.
