THE KAIKOURA MEETING .
(Special to Daily Times.) CHRISTCHURCH, February 20. The Kaikoura meeting will be held tomorrow, and - good fields should provide first-class sport. In the Improvers’ Handicap, Billy Brent is a promising pacer, and most opposition may come from Skilliecorn and Dollar King. In the Stewards’ Handicap the order at the finish should be Fair Exchange, Dilfashion, and Marjory Bingen. The Kaikoura Cup should provide a good race, and the finish may be fought out between Erin’s Pointer, Lomar, and Mountain Ore. In the Kekerangu Handicap there is little of class engaged, and the final should rest between Pointal, Arklow, and Neil Dillon. In the Suburban Handicap most of the trotters will be making their second appearance for the day, and Arthur Thorpe, Fair Exchange, and Bell Heather may be the best. The best of those engaged in the President’s Handicap should be Arachne, Lord Matchlight, and Durolina. All those engaged in the Kaiterau Handicap will start off the limit, and the finish may he between Pointal, Billy Brent, and Broken. The finish of the Farewell Handicap should find the placing—-Le Thorpe, Schoolmate, and Becky De Oro.
