(From Our Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA, January 26. WOOL PRICES. Evidence of the very low values to be obtained for wool is to be found in the fact that instances are being related of fanners in this district throwing seeded wool away, sooner than go to the trouble of preparing and marketing so poor a product. In an ordinary season such wool would be worth saving. Fortunately the proportion of seeded "wool in a clip is usually very small. PERSONAL. The health of Mr J. S. Algie (formerly one of the proprietors of the Clutha Free Press) is causing grave concern to his relatives and friends. Ho has been ill for over sis months, and when apparently convalescing was seized with a paralytic stroke on Thursday morning, and has not since regained consciousness. CRICKET. The Clutha B cricket team travelled to Milburn on Saturday, and, in a one-inn-ing’s match, defeated the Milburn team by 101 runs to 92. For Clutha, Lennox made 45, while for Milburn Wisely scored 39. , Clutha A was defeated by Waiwera at Balclutha. Clutha batted first and the team was all out for 149.
