WAIKOUAITI NOTES.
(From Ode Own Correspondent.) WAIKOUAITI, January 24. BURGLARY. Driving home about 3 o’clock this morning a party of residents noticed a car standing outside the Waikouaiti Supply Stores. On opening the premises at 8 o’clock. Mr Higgins found that the bulk store adjoining his shop had been entered and a quantity of goods in cases removed, presumably in the car which had been seen at the store earlier in the morning. THE SHOW. The following are the winners of most points, trophies, and cups at the recent show:—Ayrshire cattle, W. Reid, Omimi; Jersey cattle, W. Reid, Omimi; Friesian cattle, T. Hewitt; cup presented by the estate of the late Peter Ireland for most points in cattle, T. Hewitt, Goodwood; draught horses. J. Reid; light horses. Miss Douglass; sheep, Mr A. Woods; jumping, William Hastie; home industries, Mrs James Townsend; baking, Mrs Timmins; most points in horses, cattle, and sheep, Mr James Payne.
