THE LIGHT-WEIGHT TITLE. JOHNS DEFEATS HECTOR LECKIE. (Per United Press Association.l %. AUCKLAND, January 26. The professional light-weight boxing championship of New Zealand changed hands to-night, when Harry Johns (Auckland), 9st s£lb, defeated the holder, Hector .Leckie (Otago), on points at the end of the full 15 rounds. Johns gave the most scientific display, leading easily over tie first few rounds. Leckie asserted himself during the middle stages, but the Aucklander came again in the last three rounds to score a popular victory. This was Johns’e debut as a professional.
