A HUGE ARMY
THE WORLD'S UNEMPLOYED., BIG INCREASE IN JANUARY. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) GENEVA, January 22. The Internationa! Labour Office has issued a statement that the unemployed throughout the world total approximately 20,000,000, of whom 11,000,000 are in Europe, a total double that of January, 1930. It includes .4,500,000. in Germany, 2,100,000 in Britain, 500,000 in Italy, also 400,000 in Japan. The Unemployment Committee is meeting on January 26 to draw up a plan to study unemployment with a view to international action. , POSITION IN BRITAIN. THE GOVERNMENT’S POLICY. LONDON, January 22The Mosley group of Labourites Is aiming at summoning a special national conference of the Labour. Party, to be attended by delegates from all parts of the country, to discuss' the Goverhraenfs unemployment policy.
