The death rate in England and Wales in 1930 was the lowest on record, being 0.1 below the average of 1923-26 and 1 point below 1929.. The infant mortality was also the lowest, being 5 per thousand below 192 E and 14 below 1929. The birth rate was 16.3 —equal to that in 1929 as the lowest recorded.—Times Cable.
