PALMERSTON NOTES
(From: Our Own Correspondent.) PALMERSTON, December 1. AMATEUR ATHLETIC CLUB. There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Paimer tson-Wai-hemo Amateur Athletic Club. Mr D M Thomson presided, and stated that there wasa substantial credit from last season. He thanked the various officers and members for their assistance, and also those who had given donations. The following officers were elected:— Patrons—Messrs. E. H. Clark, M.L.O. J. A. Macpberaon, M.P., W. H. Hopkins, and R. Riddle; president, Mr D. M. Thomson; vice-presidents—Messrs D. Ross, W. Pittaway, A. Ingram, J. Kerse, A. M'Gregor, and J. Duncan; secretary and treasurer, Mr P. Gordon; assistant secretary, Mr R. C. Walker; committee—Messrs W. Earley P. Lowen, G. Wills, W. Murray, At M'Kean, J. Purvis J. S. Miller, J. Burr row, and James Forrest; honorary surfeons, Drs Howden and Thomas; referee, Ir John Gordon; starter, Mr John Ross; handicappers, Messrs J. Gordon (cycling) and J. Day (running); timekeepers— Messrs J. S. Miller, G. Hudson, R. Penny, and J, F. Stent; cycling judges—Messrs J. J.. Haggle, R. S. Dowxe, and J. Kerse; running . judges—Messrs W. Murray, W. Pittaway, and F. Lowen; announcer, Mr F. Lowen; delegate to Otago Centre, Mr M. Beataon; auditor, Mr A. A. M'William. The opening meeting of the season will consist of a cycle road race and a crosscountry run on December 10. SATURDAY’S SPORT.
There was perfect weather on Saturday afternoon. Three rinks of Palmerston bowlers went to Seacliff, and beat that team by a. narrow margin. Palmerston A lawn tennis team beat Waikouaiti by 16 to nil; Palmerston B and Shag Point had a draw. . The. Palmerston cricket team beat Waikouaiti, and the Dunback lawn tennis team beat Moeraki.
