BUSES VERSUS TAXIS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sißj—ln reading the council meeting report this morning, I noticed that CrScott stated that the tramway, manager had no desire'to interfere with the calling of the taxi proprietors. Well, this does seem strange reading to; me. The buses actually stand at the Railway Station and solicit patronage from people coming off the trains who ■ are going to Forbury Park trotting grounds on race days. If this is not robbing the poor taxi proprietor of his few shillings f do not know what is. However, it is not too late for Mr Scott to rectify this before the next meeting comes around,' and let us hope that he will practise what he _ preaches, < as times are hard enough with the taxi business without the buses' taking what few plums there are left.—l am, etc..
