THE SLUMP IN LONDON. A BLOW TO AUSTRALIANS. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, May 9. The slump In the price of tin in London will be /a severe blow to a section of .the Australian investors, as many of the Eastern tip dredging companies aro controlled in Australia, Tuesday’s slump to £143 8s 9d brought the price very close to the lowest since the war, while dnee the beginning of this year tin has fallen nearly £36. Three years ago the London quotation was £3OO a ton. As a result of the depressed prices tin ■tocks on 'Change were neglected. The market yesterday, however, showed a recovery of £2 18s 9d for spot supplies.
