WAIRARAPA AERO CLUB.

RECOGNISED AS INDEPENDENT UNIT. (Pek Dotted Pbess Association.} MASTERTON, May 8. In reply to a deputation which placed the claims of the Wairarape - Aero Olnb before him at Wellington to-day, the Min, ister of Defence (Mr d. G. Cobbe) agreed to grant the dnb recognition as an independent unit,- entitled to the State 'fin-, andal and other assistance granted to the dubs so recognised. Members of the deputation stressed the importance of Walrarapa from an adaption point of view. The dnb was firmly established, as might be seen from its membership, the number of trainees appearing under Its auspices, the engagement of a capable pilot, the acquisition of a plane, and the measures taken to*' seen re ’ the establishment of landing grounds. The dub was no mushroom growth, but was solidly established. It was submitted that it would be only fair and' just that a district as important aq Wairarapa should be accorded the recognition and assistance that had already been accorded to other districts. The Minister, said he had not realised thal the dab was in such a. strong position. A very convincing case had been made out, and he agreed to grant the •club recognition as an independent unit.
