CURING DEPRESSION.
It is a sound maxim that “advertising properly applied makes bad times good and Rood times better," said Mr Vincent H. Freeth, of Catts-Patterson Company (N.Z.), Ltd., recently in the course of a lecture before the Christchurch Advertising Club. It may cost more money to make a sale in times of depression, but 'meantime you are doing better than the other’ fellow who cuts down hie advertise ing and his sales force. . The people with courage win out and are in much better shape to reap the harvest when the temporary depression lifts. One of the most courageous of men was one of your own citizens, a man whose name will be remembered and vrespected in the motor trade for many years to come. I can well remember how he faced the slump of 1921, He had many thousands of pounds invested in stocks of’cars and accessories, and be determined to shift - them. He took full-page advertisements in newspapers when the trade generally had ceased to advertise, and he cleaned up hie stock. He was a man who had the courage of his convictions. When once he niade up his mind to a plan be stuck to it. Great success came to him because’ of sheer tenacity and determination. When the weather changes you will be glad to have a bottle of “ NAZOL ” bandy to protect you from colds. 60 doses for L la fid,—jidrt
