THE KING’S ACCESSION
TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY. GLOWING’ PRESS COMMENT. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—-Copyright.) LONDON, May fl. * (Received May 7, at 0.30 a.m.) The entire British .press acknowledges the twentieth anniversary of the King’s accession with glowing editorial comment and photographs, and they print many outstanding events of the reign. Although there will be no special celebrations the event will be marked with the usual salvos of 21 guns at Hyde Park, Windsor, and other stations. The King, looking extremely well, returned to London from Windsor. The court will remain at Buckingham Palace. Messages of congratulation have been received from all 6ver the world, and the Daily Chronicle publishes a series of special messages from M. Poincare, Baron Wakatsuki, the Aga Khan, M. Painleve and General Berenguer, among others.
ROYAL SALUTE IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY, May 0. (Received May 7, at 0.16 a.rn.) The _ Australian cruisers, which are lying in Sydney Harbour, were dressed to-day in honour of the King’s twentieth year on the throne, and a salute of 21 guns was fired.
